Obesity is not just a matter of how much you weigh on the weighing machine. It is a matter of fat. If you are obese you run the risk of developing various health complications. The Body Mass Index is a good way of assesing body fat. BMI is calculated by using the following formula. BMI=Body Weight in Kgs divided by Height in Metre Squared.The normal Range for the BMI is between 18 and 25. A value in excess of 25 indicates a tendency towards obesity and values above 28-30 may indicate the need for measures to reduce weight.
