Under both plan options, the available policy term will be in multiple of 1 year between Maximum and Minimum policy term up to age of 85 years.

Minimum Premium: Corresponding to the minimum sum assured and applicable premium rates.

Premium Payment Frequency: Annual, Half-Yearly, Monthly

Goods and Services Tax are applicable on premiums as per the prevailing Tax Laws. The tax laws are subject to amendments from time to time.

Exclusions (Policies sourced through POS): Waiting period for Death Benefit:

  • In the event of death of the Life Assured during the first 90 days from the Date of Commencement of Risk (“Waiting Period”), no Death Benefit shall be payable.
  • In case of a death during the Waiting Period, the Company shall refund all premiums paid (including modal loading but excluding all paid taxes, cesses and levies, etc. if any) and the Policy shall terminate with all rights and benefits thereunder.
  • No Waiting Period applies where death of the Life Assured is due to accident

Suicide: If the Life Assured, whether sane or insane, commits suicide within 12 months from the Date of Commencement of Risk of this Policy, We will refund higher of 80% of the total premiums paid, if any till the date of death or Policy Cancellation Value as available on date of death provided the policy is in force. In the case of a revived Policy, if the Life Assured, whether sane or insane, commits suicide within 12 months of the date of Revival of the Policy, higher of 80% of the total premiums paid, if any till date of death or Policy Cancellation Value as available on date of death will be payable by Us. The Policy will terminate on making such a payment and all rights, benefits and interests under the Policy will stand extinguished.

What kind of deaths are covered in this life insurance plan?

All kinds of deaths are covered under the plan including natural, accidental, murder, illnesses and natural calamities. You are covered under this plan as soon as your policy is issued and there is no waiting period. Coverage of death due to suicide is not available only in the first year of policy.

What is the minimum and maximum life cover allowed in this plan?

Minimum life cover that can be bought in this plan is ₹50 lakh and the maximum life cover that can be bought in this plan is ₹2 crore. Your eligibility of the cover amount depends on your financial eligibility calculated based on a multiplier.

Which are the different payment terms available for paying premium under this plan?

We have 2 payment terms available:

  • Regular pay where you pay for the entire policy term.
  • Limited pay where you pay for a limited duration but enjoy policy benefits for the whole policy term. Options available under limited pay are 5 years, 7 years, 10 years, 15 years, and till the age of 60 years.

What is the minimum and maximum policy term allowed in this plan?

Minimum policy term that can be availed in this plan is 20 years and the maximum life policy term that can be availed in this plan is (85-age) years.

Are there any age limits for buying this life insurance plan for self-employed?

Yes, the minimum and maximum age for buying a life insurance plan for self- employed are 18 and 55 years respectively.

For processing a death claim under this Policy, We will require the following documents (as may be relevant):

  • Duly filled and signed Claimant Statement Form
  • Copy of Death Certificate of the Life Assured, issued by government authority
  • Claimant address proof*
  • Claimant photo identity proof*
  • Recent photograph of the claimant
  • Pan card / Form 97 of the claimant
  • Duly filled and signed Payout mandate form with bank account details of the claimant
  • Copy of cancelled cheque / bank statement / bank passbook with printed account number and name of the claimant

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED BASED ON CAUSE OF DEATH

A. In case of death due to Unnatural causes such as Accidents (Road / Rail / Air etc), Murder, Suicide, etc.

  • Medico-legal cause of death certificate
  • First Information Report (FIR) from the police authority
  • Inquest/ Panchnama Report
  • Final police investigation report
  • Post Mortem Report (PMR) issued by the hospital
  • Viscera / Chemical examination report
  • Newspaper Cutting, if any
  • Driving License (of the Life Assured driving the vehicle in case of death due to a road accident)
  • Hospitalization / treatment records if any
  • Duly filled in Medical/ Hospital Attendant Certificate
  • Duly filled in Employer Certificate (only if Life Assured was a salaried individual)

B. In Case of death due to Natural or medical causes (death at home, hospital)

  • Medico-legal / Medical cause of death certificate
  • Past medical records and treatment papers
  • All hospitalization records of the Life Assured such as:
    • Admission form
    • Indoor Case Papers (ICPs)
    • Discharge summary
    • Diagnostic test reports such as USG, Pathology / Lab reports etc.
  • Duly filled in Treating Doctor Certificate
  • Duly filled in Medical/ Hospital Attendant Certificate

Claim payments are made only in Indian currency in accordance with the prevailing Exchange control regulations and other relevant laws and regulations in India. In case the Claimant is unable to provide any or all of the above documents, in exceptional circumstances such as a natural calamity, the Company may at its own discretion conduct an investigation and may subsequently settle the claim.

1 Life Cover is the benefit payable on death of the life assured during the policy term.

2 The Policyholder can avail Premium Break under the product for a period extending by 12 months from the due date of first unpaid premium. During this Premium Break Period, the premium (including the rider(s) premium, additional premium (if any) for the other inbuilt benefits, any underwriting extra premium, loadings for modal premiums, applicable taxes, cesses and levies, etc. if any) due and payable for the said period will be deferred (“Deferred Amount”) but the risk cover under the policy and rider(s) will continue as per the terms and conditions of the policy and rider(s), respectively. In case of any claim under the Policy on the happening of any insured event during this period, the policyholder will receive the eligible claim amount under the policy after deducting all the deferred amount.

3 Accidental death benefit option available through ICICI Pru Non-Linked Accidental Death and Disability Rider: Under this option, if the person whose life is covered by this benefit option (known as the Life Assured) passes away, due to an accidental death which happens within the Coverage term such that death happens 180 days from the date of accident, the sum assured for ADB will be paid out as a lump sum to the person specified (known as the Claimant) in the policy, provided the benefit option is in-force at the time of the accident. Maximum Sum Assured available under Accidental Death Benefit option will be equal the Sum Assured on Death at inception for the base policy (capped at ₹ 1Crore).

4 If the life assured covered by this benefit option become totally, continuously and permanently disabled as a result of accident i.e., Accidental Total Permanent Disability and meets any of 3 clauses as defined in the policy document, the Accidental Total and Permanent Disability Sum Assured will be paid out as a lump sum to the nominee. On payment of the Accidental total and permanent disability Sum Assured to the Claimant, the benefit option will terminate and all rights, benefits and interests under the option will stand extinguished. Maximum Sum Assured available under Accidental Total and Permanent Disability Benefit option will be up to the Sum Assured on Death at inception for the base policy (capped at ₹ 1 Crore). 5 Premiums for female lives for life cover (Death Benefit) are lower by 15% as compared to male lives.

6 A discount of 12% on first year’s base premium (excluding underwriting extra premium and taxes) will be offered to customers in cases where customer initiates purchase of policies on his own through any ISNP (Insurance Self Network Platform) either owned by the company or intermediary.

7 A discount of 7% on first year’s base premium (excluding underwriting extra premium and taxes) will be offered to any existing policyholder who is purchasing this product or to any such policyholder purchasing this product with any of our other products at the same time. This can be availed with appropriate documentary proof provided by the policyholder or through internal validation process.

8 Tax benefits/Tax free proceeds under the policy are subject to conditions under Section 123 (read with Schedule XV, Sr. No. 1, 2 & 4), Section 11 (read with Schedule II, Sr. No. 2), Section 202 and other provisions of the Income Tax Act, 2025. Goods and Services Tax and Cesses, if any, will be charged extra as per prevailing rates. Tax laws are subject to amendments made thereto from time to time.
